The last camping trip of the summer is always bittersweet but was a great time with the family. We managed to get our favorite top-secret spot along the McKenzie River which afforded great river views of rafters and wildlife, such as this little visitor to our kitchen. I had to leave camp to shoot a wedding on Saturday so we didn’t do any rafting or kayaking, but the weather was great, and the time spent in nature was sublime!

I love the McKenzie, such a beautiful river. Was there much smoke in the air? We were camping a couple drainages over, and closer to Mt Hood and the Jefferson Wilderness and there was a lot of smoke hanging in the air. All of the roads to the north and west of us were closed But it was a great weekend for camping.

Wow Brian, I am captured by the colors on the catepillar shot, wonderful, and slow motion in the water, great, I love that technique… I haven’t tried it digitally yet, never had a problem with film, gives me inspiration to go out and find some water now…. great stuff as always!
