New Toys…

So, I had a chance to work with some brand new equipment today. Matt Wilson of Brightstar Consulting needed some dramatic portraits of himself for his website and marketing materials and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to experiment. Personally, it’s been a huge year of transition for me. I can’t deny that it feels totally different in terms of positive growth. I am in the process of getting rid of a ton of old equipment I no longer use, upgrading my existing travel & studio kit and learning new technologies. For this shot I used just three little Speedlites, four Pocket Wizards, some blue and orange gels, and a homemade cardboard snoot. When I think of all the gear I’d use in the past to get this very same shot and how easy and fun this setup was, I’m amazed at how important it is to continually push yourself to learn new ways of doing things!
