You got to love it when your birthday falls on a weekend. My wife mentioned about a month ago to keep Thursday the 16th open after 5PM because she was taking me out for my birthday. Nothing special, she said, just a nice dinner out. It appears my really good friends from Arizona were visiting Portland this weekend and “SURPRISE” there they were, waiting for us at South Park for cocktails on the Park Blocks. Then later, we get to dinner, and my name’s on the menus! Does it get any better than that to make a guy feel special?

I wanted to make an image of the menus from how I remember the light hitting them from the low lighting and candlelight in the restaurant. For those interested, here’s a shot of my sophisticated lighting set-up :-) :
