Group Portraits…

What do you get when you bring thirteen naturopathic doctors into the studio, after hours, for a group shot for their collective website? If you stick with it long enough, the above shot! We started off with some simple groupings and as we shot some interesting forms started to take shape, much like arranging musical notes on a [...]

Portland Pin-Up Photography…

A little warmth for these cold days! Had some fun in the studio with pin-up models Miranda and Kayla, friends of my assistant Aaron. We set up several backgrounds and collected a vast assortment of props beforehand to create some cool situations the models could seamlessly move into. The lighting set-up was pretty consistent, large [...]

Intimate Newborn Portraits…

Little Nolan came to the studio a little while ago to have his very first photo session. We cranked up the heat so the little fella stayed warm and cozy but we may have overdone it because he was so comfortable he fell asleep several times! I had photographed Mom and Dad’s wedding in Hawaii in 2008 and it was awesome [...]

Urban farmers…

Family Portraits & Charity Auctions…

Families are starting to call and book the portrait sessions they won in the charity auctions I contributed to this year. Donating the sessions to groups I care about is a great way to give back to the community, increase awareness of my brand and create some exposure about another style of photography I do. As much networking [...]

Equestrian Portraits…

Had a cool assignment to shoot portraits for an equestrian club last Sunday. Even though we were in a covered arena, it rained like crazy and the fiberglass roof made the rain loud! One Speedlite, camera right, gelled CTO, then color balanced for that, shot through a small white umbrella.

Family Portraits…

Readers of my blog may remember this client from her maternity shoot a few months back, and here’s the latest. This was always the plan, to come back in the studio for some quiet, detailed portraits in B+W after her son was born. It was a lot of fun getting to know the new family!

Wedding at The Water Oasis…
